Andre Anthony has been praised for his charming vocals and infectious energy. His music embodies playful creativity, paired with passion and honest storytelling. His experiences in gospel, jazz, pop, r&b, and musical theatre have shape his unique and vibrant style. 

Born and raised in Toronto to Jamaican parents, Andre began his journey singing in church choirs and performing in community theatre. His expansion as an artist began while earning his bachelors of music degree at Humber College and his diploma in Acting for Film and Television. At that time, he was also seen in the top 100 on Canadian Idol, and featured on Vision TV's Gospel Challenge. Since then, Andre has studied Film production at Toronto Metropolitan University, and writing for Film and Television at Act One in L.A. In 2014, Andre released his debut jazz album titled Andre Anthony: The Gentleman. He later formed the Toronto-based band Sophisticated Funk who has opened for Erykah Badu and Alex Cuba. 

He then took a break from recording music to perform in Musicals and plays across the country. Select theatre credits include; Titanique (Mirvish/Segal), Beautiful: The Carole King Musical (Segal/ Royal MTC)), 1812 (Foster Festival), Kinky Boots (Mirvish), Rock of Ages (Stage West), Only In Vegas (Mayfield Theatre), Joseph & The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (Queensway Performing Arts), Handel’s Messiah Rocks: A Joyful Noise (Living Arts Centre), Joy In The Morning (Queen Elizabeth Theatre). Andre also directed and choreographed Disney’s Highschool Musical (Meadowvale Theatre). He wrote, directed, and choreographed The Passion of Jesus Christ (PCWC Players) and Black Nativity: Home for Christmas (PCWC Players). Andre can also be seen in the Amazon Prime original series The Boys and the NBC TV movie Maybe It’s You. In 2021, Andre received a development deal with the CBC for his original sitcom The Gospel According to Garrett. 

This Dora nominated performer has worked with many prestigious artists such as Josh Groban, Cyndi Lauper, Ryland James, HONORS, Laila Biali, Kurt Elling, the Toronto Mass Choir, and many more. In 2021, Andre released his first original song titled God of Love and later the pop hit With Love produced by award winning producer Perry Caporetta. He is currently the host of The 60 Second Check-In, an interview game show designed to give viewers a fun quick look into the best of gospel music, entertainment, and culture.

This year marks an exciting chapter as Andre Anthony releases new original music. With a number of live dates confirmed, new music, and eye-popping projects on the way, Andre Anthony is charting his path to become one of Toronto's next great exports.
